There are people who run away from someone else and there are people who run away from themselves. Perhaps there are issues they cannot deal with or in some cases, their very problem might be their own selves. This creates a very stressful relationship with other individuals who may be emotionally invested in them. It may be easy to convince themselves to stay but the true question is whether the other person can be convinced to stay. There are some who need space just until they figure their issues out while with others, all they do is run without looking back even once, leaving behind them a trail of broken hearts and dreams.
Sometimes, it is difficult to let go for things or step back from things that we love, especially those that have until recently been a large part of our lives. Sometimes, relationships can turn toxic. We blame ourselves for the failure of others. We fail to see that not everything is within our control and sometimes, letting go is just another way to give yourself the respect and love you deserve. Many may call it selfishness, but rather than blindly believing what other people say, trust in your instincts and rebalance your life. If your happiness is your own and you are not hurting anyone in the process, you are doing it right
